Adhiparasakthi Polytechnic College is the First Educational Institution started by the Adhiparasakthi Charitable, Medical, Educational and Cultural Trust. His Holiness Arulthiru "AMMA" is the Founder President. Thirumathi Lakshmi Bangaru Adigalar is the Executive Vice-President. Thiru G.B.Senthilkumar, B.E., is the Correspondent. This Institution was established in the academic year 1983-84 and recognised as one of the best polytechnic in the state. "Study, Spirituality and Service" is the Motto of this polytechnic.
(i) Civil (ii) Mechanical (iii) Electrical and Electronics (iv) Electronics and Communication and (v) Computer Engineering
are the branches of Diploma Courses offered in this Institution, with the approval of All India Council of Technical Education.
Every year 540 students are admitted in the First year Diploma constituting 90 seats for
Electronics and Communication Engineering. 120 seats per branch for the other four courses. Additional
108 students who have passed +2 examination with a) Engineering Vocational subjects and b) with Maths, Physics and Chemistry are admitted in the Second year Diploma Course.
Extensive Computer Centre with an area of 2800 sq. feet is provided with separate Internet browsing centre and CAD / CAM Lab with Pentium IV Computer and 25 KVA UPS is functioning effectively with the facility of separate computer for each student during practical classes. The Polytechnic college is fully equipped with Laboratories and Workshops, with the best Teaching faculty.
Every student must be present on the reopening date after each semester vacation. Absentees will be fined. If a student continues to be absent even after one week, he will be deemed to have been discontinued his studies and his/her name will be removed from the Roll.
For not being able to attend on the reopening day, prior permission is to be obtained from the Principal. Permission will be granted only for reasons of unavoidable circumstances. All the students must come to college with proper dressing, should wear Identity Card and black shoe. Boys are not allowed to wear Jeans pant and T-shirt. They should tuck their Shirt.
The first year students are to pay half of the fees at the time of admission, and the balance fees are to be paid during 1st week of November. Second year and third year students should remit the fees for every semester within 7 days from the commencement of each semester. Those students who do not pay their fees within 7 days will not be allowed to the classes till the payment of the fees. The Books & Stationery advance for each semester is to be paid along with the Tuition fees.
The Polytechnic College functions from 8.40 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. with lunch break from 12.20 p.m. to
1.20 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays are weekly holidays and
the students should utilize these weekly holidays only for
studies. Tests will be conducted on Saturday, Forenoon
Attendance will be taken every hour. No student should be absent for ordinary reasons. Leave letter should be submitted and get it granted before going on leave. Minimum of 80% attendance is required to write the Board Examination
in the period of 13 weeks of regular classes for I to VI Semesters. (Even Medical leave is not considered for attendance). Those who get less than 80% attendance, cannot write the Board Examination due to non-eligibility. He / She is to join once again in the same semester course next year after obtaining permission from the Director of Technical Education and to get 80% of attendance in the semester of that year to appear for the Board examination. For example, if a student fails to get 80% attendance in V Semester in the year 2003 he/she cannot write the Board Examination of V Semester in October 2003. Then he / she is to discontinue his/her studies and wait for 8 months from October 2003 to May 2004. He / She can rejoin in the same V Semester course in June 2003 after obtaining permission from Dote. Regarding I year
I semester students, they will have to seek readmission. Hence, the students are advised to keep it in mind about the above facts while absenting from the classes (with or without leave). Intimation regarding shortage of attendance will be sent to the parents every month. Students joining the I year Diploma Course have to complete and pass the Diploma within 6 years. HSC Students admitted in III Semester will have to complete and pass the Diploma with in 5 years.
Weekly prayer for about ten minutes will be
conducted on all Fridays, 15 minutes before the
commencement of the morning classes. All the students
should attend the prayer in Red.
TESTS, ASSIGNMENTS AND LAB RECORDS
Unit Tests and Assignments are given utmost importance. Tests will be conducted generally on Forenoon of Saturdays. Absence for the tests and failure to submit assignments will be seriously viewed. Students showing continued poor performance in the tests are treated as weak students. They should attend weak students class from
4.15 P.M. to 5.15 P.M. daily. Special weak students class will be conducted from 7.30 A.M. to 9.00 A.M. and 5.30 P.M. to 8.00 P.M., two months prior to the commencement of Board Exams.
Students should bring Observation note books and Record note books when they attend Practical classes. Record note books should be written legibly and maintained neatly. After doing each experiment, the Record note book should be submitted to the staff concerned for obtaining signature.
We conduct numerous programmes including Guest Lectures, Group Discussions, Seminars, Workshop etc. There is a great deal of creativity involved in the conduct of these programmes because the students involvement is active and creative. Industrial visit is organized by all the branches. Most of the final year students are selected for apprenticeship training from various leading companies.
